“In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart!  I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NIV)

Life is hard!  Don’t we all feel at times like we’ve had more than our share of trouble? Chronic family illness, a severely depressed spouse, a family member addicted to alcohol or drugs, and more…

The storms of life can either knock us to the ground, or make us stronger.  We choose how we respond.  We choose who we look to for help, and who we trust to get us through the hurricanes of our lives.  We choose to seek joy ~ or be swept up in the chaos that surrounds us.  As I was writing one of the articles for this newsletter recently, a song came to my mind that was a great comfort and encouragement to me many years ago, when as a very young mother I was going through some really turbulent times.

I hope it gives you encouragement and reminds you of Who it is that you can look to ~ who is your Solid Rock.

Let The Wind Blow
The Imperials ~ 1985

There’s a storm on the horizon,
Oh, let the wind blow,
There is thunder in the heavens,
Oh, let the wind blow,
Let the rain fall down from the sky above,
Let the tempest roar ’til it’s had enough,
I’m trusting in the Lord of love,
Let the wind blow.

There is lightning in the distance,
Oh, let the wind blow,
There is darkness all around me,
Oh, let the wind blow,
Let the world give all the hurt it can,
Let the evil one devise his plans,
I’m trusting in the great I am,
Let the wind blow.

Let the wind blow… blow as hard as it can,
Let the wind blow,
Upon the solid rock of God I stand,
Oh, let the wind blow.

There’s a storm on the horizon,
Oh, let the wind blow,
There is thunder in the heavens,
Oh, let the wind blow,
Let its mighty fury be unleashed,
Let the doubters fall upon their knees,
I’m trusting in the prince of peace,
Let the wind blow.

Let the wind blow… blow as hard as it can,
Let the wind blow,
Upon the solid rock of God I stand,
Oh, let the wind blow.

Let its mighty fury be unleashed,
Let the doubters fall upon their knees,
I’m trusting in the prince of peace,
Let the wind blow.

Let the wind blow… blow as hard as it can,
Let the wind blow,
Upon the solid rock of God I stand,
Let the wind blow, the wind blow.

Let the rain fall down from the sky above,
Let the tempest roar ’til it’s had enough, (let the wind blow)
Let the world give all the hurt it can,
Let the evil one devise his plans, (let the wind blow)
Let the rain fall down from the sky above,
Let the tempest roar ’til it’s had enough,
I’m trusting in the Lord of love,
Let the wind blow
